Rizwan Rajput, a graduate of Concordia and McGill universities, has been a passionate Chartered Professional Accountant for over 10 years. He was born and raised in Montreal and is the proud father of two children.
Mr. Rajput has volunteered at the Cartierville YMCA as an animator for 10 years and loves sports. A convinced Muslim, he believes that Montreal is an inclusive and diverse city, hence the importance of bilingualism and multiculturalism. A longtime resident, Mr. Rajput runs in the riding of Saint-Laurent where he grew up and is sensitive to the needs of the community. Saint-Laurent has many mosques, churches and synagogues. Freedom of religion must be promoted to allow communities to flourish. Mr. Rajput has strong ties to Muslim communities and got into politics due to concerns over recent discriminatory laws such as Bill 21 and Bill 96.
